Hey, Hello, I need some advice…

My husband has been a union ironworker for 30 years.

You need to contact each union individually and find out what their requirements are.
It may help to narrow it down a bit.
Are you interested in being an electrician?
Plumber?
Stonemason?
Ironworker?
Heavy equipment operator?

In the US, you join the union first, and they train you through their apprentice program.
Then the union connects you with the jobs.
But there is no such thing as “part time”.
And the jobs are not posted on any public website.

You have to show up for work and be there for the duration of the job.
It can be one day or one year.

You can work anywhere from 8 to 18 hours in a day.

When the job is finished, you’re unemployed again until you land another one.
You can take time off, but if you take too much time off, you’ll get a bad reputation and people won’t want to hire you.

And there is no paid vacation, sick days, or holidays.
You get paid only for the days that you work.

It’s dirty, draining, back-breaking work.
