Ranking just behind the best of animator Don Bluth’s films (Anastasia and The Secret of NIMH), Thumbelina is a bubble-light version of Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale. Chapters: Stranger Than Paradise, Howard the Duck, Major League, Major League Ii, the Rocker, the Soloist, Welcome to Collinwood, American Splendor, the Fortune Cookie, Light of Day, Antwone Fisher, Against the Ropes, the Oh in Ohio, the Kid From Cleveland. Excerpt: Against the Ropes Against the Ropes is a 2004 drama movie . It was directed by Charles S. Dutton , in his motion-picture directorial debut. It is a fictionalized account of the American boxing manager Jackie Kallen , who was the first woman to become a success in the sport. Luther Shaw most likely represents James Toney , a boxer whom Kallen managed to a title despite a rocky relationship. Against the Ropes grossed less than $6 million in the US and was panned by critics, in part because of the resemblance to nearly all the other boxing movies, such as the Rocky series. As with other such movies, its climax is a bout for the championship. The film was shot primarily in Hamilton, Ontario , Canada at the Copps Coliseum . Plot The film begins with Jackie learning the boxing game with her father and uncle in a small gym when she is just a small girl. Later, she becomes the assistant to a Cleveland boxing promoter. Jackie’s boss then begins doing business with Sam LaRocca, a sports manager, during a middleweight championship fight. After the fight, LaRocca asks Jackie what she thought of the fight. Obviously unimpressed with Jackie’s knowledge of boxing, LaRocca offers her the fight’s loser’s contract for a dollar. She goes to visit the fighter at home, only to find him addicted to drugs. Enter Luther Shaw, a small time hood, based partly on James Toney . Kallen watches in mixed horror and fascination as Shaw pummels the former middleweight champ. She offers to manage him professionally. Although Shaw is at first hesitant,

This site was abandoned within ten years. After the death of Henry VIII the site was rearmed. By 1625 the site had again fallen into disrepair and Harwich was considered to be defenceless. The site now remained out of use until a redoubt of ten guns was built in 1810. In 1862 these guns were upgraded as a result of the 1860 Royal Commission on the Defence of the United Kingdom .By the 1880s the fort was considered outdated and in 1889 work began on a totally new fort, which was completed in 1892. After World War I the fort was disarmed and sold. In 1940 it was bought back into service as a consequence of World War II . The fort was then decommissioned in 1956.Websites (URLs online) A hyperlinked version of this chapter is at Cambridge University Press Cambridge University Press (or CUP ) is the publishing business of the University of Cambridge . He is supposed by the historian Heinrich Graetz to have been born in 1570. He is widely supposed to have been descended from a Marrano family: place of birth is unknown but may (according to Barbosa Machado the biographer ) have been Lisbon , Portugal . Other sources link him to Italy , specifically Tuscany , and as the son of the last Chief Rabbi of Córdoba in Spain .He is known to have married a Sara de Herrera in Amsterdam in 1600; however, it is unlikely that this is the wife’s original surname. It is also reasonably certain that he had an uncle, Juan de Marchena, who worked as a factor for the Sultan of Morocco Moulay, Achmed-el-Mansur.While in Cadiz on the Sultan ‘s business, Herrera is supposed to have been captured by the English , was released again after an exchange of diplomatic correspondence between the Sultan and Queen Elizabeth I , and travelled thereafter to Amsterdam, where he returned to

Excerpt: Caleb Pusey House Pusey’s land (just north and west of Chester) on Thomas Holme ‘s 1687 map of Pennsylvania Caleb Pusey (c. 1650 1727) was a lastmaker (a maker of wooden foot molds for cobblers) and a friend and business partner of William Penn , the founder of the colony of Pennsylvania . He managed a grist mill , and lived on a plantation named “Landing Ford” in what is now Upland , outside of Chester, Pennsylvania . His original 1683 house still stands and is the oldest English house in Pennsylvania open to the public. It is the only remaining house where William Penn is known to have visited. From 1701, he served as a justice of the provincial supreme court . Pusey became involved with the local Quaker community, as well as local government. He wrote a number of pamphlets , several in defense of William Penn. The building is now owned by the Friends of the Caleb Pusey House, Inc. Caleb Pusey house The Caleb Pusey house which now bears the address 15 Race Street, Upland, Pennsylvania is likely the oldest house in the state. It was built sometime after 1682 in two stages, probably finished a couple of years apart. By 1696 it was completed and hosted the Quaker services of the Chester Monthly Meeting. It is built from native stone in the vernacular tradition of yeoman’s house of Berkshire , England, Pusey’s home county. Bricks have been interspersed randomly through the construction, probably replacing missing stones. Weather vane An iron weather vane,

Excerpt: The Eighty Years’ War, or Dutch War of Independence, (15681648) began as a revolt against Philip II of Spain, the overlord of the Habsburg Netherlands. The war ended with the Treaty of Westphalia. This revolt partly succeeded with the secession of seven provinces which formed the Dutch Republic. The direct cause of this war was similar to the slogan No taxation without representation. Under the Habsburgs, the low countries were formally named unceremoniously De landen van herwaarts over, and in French Les pays de par deça. Translated, this means “those lands around here” for the Dutch, and “those lands around there” for the French. While they were being taxed beyond what they were willing to pay, these far-away provinces were being continually admonished for seeing to their own business without permission from the throne, which at that time was indeed far away, in Spain. Each request for special permission would take at least four weeks for a response. This unrest over taxation without representation was amplified by a strong presence of Spanish troops brought in to oversee the order in these provinces. A parallel religious revolt caused by the spread of the Anabaptism of the Dutch reformer Menno Simons and the teachings of foreign Pr…

Excerpt: Allentown, Pennsylvania – Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The area that is today the center of Allentown was laid out as Northampton Town in 1762 by William Allen, a wealthy shipping merchant, former mayor of the city of Philadelphia and then-Chief Justice of the Province of Pennsylvania. The property was part of a 5,000-acre (20 km) plot Allen purchased on September 10, 1735 from his business partner Joseph Turner, who was assigned the warrant to the land by Thomas Penn, son of William Penn, on May 18, 1732. The tract was originally surveyed on November 23, 1736. A subsequent survey done in 1753 by David Schultz for a road from Easton to Reading, of which present-day Union and Jackson streets were links, shows the location of log house owned by Allen, situated near the western bank of the Jordan Creek, which was believed to have been built around 1740. Used primarily as a hunting and fishing lodge, here Allen entertained prominent guests including his brother-in-law, James Hamilton, and colonial governor John Penn. The original plan for the town, now in the archives of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, comprised forty-two city blocks and consisted of 756 lots, mostly 60 feet (18 m) in width and 230 feet (70 m) in depth. The town was located between present-day Fourth and Tenth Streets, and Union and Liberty Streets. Many streets on the original plan were named for Allen’s children: Margaret (present-day Fifth Street), William (now Sixth), James (now Eighth), Ann (now Ninth) and John (now Walnut). Allen Street (now Seventh) was named for Allen himself, and was the main thoroughfare. Hamilton Street was named for James Hamilton. Gordon Street was named for Sir Patrick Gordon, Deputy Governor of Colonial Pennsylvania from 1726-1736. Chew… More:

Excerpt: Industry and Idleness is the title of a series of 12 plot-linked engravings created by William Hogarth in 1747, intending to illustrate to working children the possible rewards of hard work and diligent application and the sure disasters attending a lack of both. Unlike his earlier works, such as A Harlot’s Progress (1731) and Marriage a-la-mode (1743), which were painted first and subsequently converted to engravings, Industry and Idleness was created solely as a set of engravings. Each of the prints was sold for 1 shilling each so 12 for the entire set, which is equivalent in purchasing power to approximately 80 GBP as of 2005. It may be assumed that these prints were aimed for a wider and less wealthy market than his earlier works. The originals currently reside at the British Museum. Hogarth was far from the first to attempt to dramatically display parallel lives leading from the same start to opposite ends. Paulson suggests two: the plays “Eastward Hoe” (Revived after Hogarth’s publication of these) and “The London Merchant”, the latter containing the especially applicable quote that “business the youth’s best preservative from ill, as idleness the worst of snares”. He also suggests that Hogarth already had the idea when he painted “Hudibras and the Lawyer” with its 2 (industrious and idle) clerks. Each print shows a representative or important scene at some point in the life of one of the protagonists (In two plates, both are shown together). Together, the seven appearances of Francis Goodchild and Thomas Idle show their steady paths up the social and political ladder to the pinnacle of power and esteem and down the path of immorality and crime to complete disgrace and legal infamy, respectively. Each appearance is also accompanied by … More:

Sotheby’s predecessor, Baker’s, was founded in London, England on 11 March 1744 when Samuel Baker presided over the disposal of “several hundred scarce and valuable” books from the library of a certain Rt. Hon. Sir John Stanley. This disposal however was not by means of auction and as Frank Herrmann and Brian Learmount observe, the business did not seek to auction fine arts in general until much later, their first major success in this field being the sale of a Frans Hals painting for 9 thousand guineas as late as 1913. The current business dates back to 1804 when two of the partners of the original business (Leigh and Sotheby) left to set up their own book dealership. Today, the firm has an annual turnover of approximately US$3 billion, and offices on London’s New Bond Street and Manhattan’s York Avenue. This position has been achieved through natural growth, acquisitions (most notably the 1964 purchase of the United States’ largest auctioneer of fine art, Parke-Bernet), and management during the cyclical “art recessions” of the 20th century. Sotheby’s New York completed renovations on its York Avenue headquarters in 2001 adding the unique capability to store works on the same premises as the specialist departments, galleries, and auction spaces. Excerpt: In 1752, Henry Fielding started a “paper war”, a long term dispute with constant publication of pamphlets attacking other writers, between the various authors on London’s Grub Street. Although it began as a dispute between Fielding and John Hill, other authors, such as Christopher Smart, Bonnell Thornton, William Kenrick, Arthur Murphy, and Tobias Smollet were soon dedicating their works to aid various sides of the conflict. The dispute lasted until 1753 and involved many of London’s periodicals. It eventually resulted in countless essays, poems, and even a series of mock epic poems starting with Smart’s The Hilliad. Although it is unknown what actually started the dispute, it resulted in a divide of authors who either supported Fielding or supported Hill, and few in between. Fielding started a “paper war” in the first issue of The Covent-Garden Journal (4 January 1752) by declaring war against “hack writers”. In response, John Hill claimed in the London Daily Advertiser (9 January 1752) Fielding had met with him prior to January and proposed what would be a fake paper war that would involve London writers “giving Blows that would not hurt, and sharing the Advantage in Silence.” Such a meeting between Fielding and Hill to discuss the proposed war is believed to have occurred (if it occurred) on 28 December 1751. It is known that Hill met Fielding for legal business between 26 December and 28 December 1751 after Hill was robbed. Before Hill had revealed this information, he attacked Fielding’s Amelia in the London Daily Advertiser on 8 January 1752. The book’s title character, Amelia, was involved in an accident that damaged her face, and Hill, mocking the way Fielding described the scene, claimed that she “could charm the World without the … More:

Excerpt: Lessee of Fothergill v. Fothergill , 1 U.S. 6 (1763) is a decision of the Pennsylvania Provincial Supreme Court , issued when Pennsylvania was still an English colony. It is among the first decisions that appear in the first volume of United States Reports .Colonial and Early State Court Cases in the United States Reports None of the decisions appearing in the first volume and most of the second volume of the United States Reports are actually decisions of the United States Supreme Court . Instead, they are decisions from various Pennsylvania courts, dating from the colonial period and the first decade after Independence. Alexander Dallas , a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania lawyer and journalist, had been in the business of reporting these cases for newspapers and periodicals. He subsequently began compiling his case reports in a bound volume, which he called “Reports of cases ruled and adjudged in the courts of Pennsylvania, before and since the Revolution”. This would come to be known as the first volume of “Dallas Reports.”When the United States Supreme Court, along with the rest of the new Federal Government, moved in 1791 to the nations temporary capital in Philadelphia, Dallas was appointed the Supreme Courts first unofficial and unpaid Supreme Court Reporter . (Court reporters in that age received no salary, but were expected to profit from the publication and sale of their compiled decisions.) Dallas continued to collect and publish Pennsylvania decisions in a second volume of his Reports, and when the Supreme Court began hearing cases, he added those cases to his reports, starting towards the end of the second volume, “2 Dallas Reports”. Dallas would go on to publish a total of 4 volumes of decisions during his tenure as Reporter. In 1874, the U.S. government created the

This unrest over taxation without representation was amplified by a strong presence of … More:

In 1850 he left his homeland to make his fortune in the New World. In 1850 from Bremerhaven Germany, Abraham took the sailing ship (Ocean Queen) to New Orleans. On arriving he then took a steamboat to St. Louis, where he went to work for Herman Levi. After a short time he moved on to Ottawa, Illinois , where he worked for Francis Mandlebaum, soon the two men became business partners. In 1852 the two left for New York, setting sail for the gold mines of California via the Isthmus of Nicaragua. The harrowing trip across the Nicaraguan

With the increase in telephone usage in the late 1800s, ADT’s messenger business slowly declined in popularity. ADT tried branching out and developing their signaling business while still maintaining their telegraph business as primary income source. ADT incorporated into Western Union in 1901. ADT separated its messenger business from its main signaling business at this time. In 1909, Western Union and ADT came under the control of AT &T . ADT began to expand into new areas like fire alarms and burglar alarms between 1910 and 1930, but was kept separate from AT &T’s Holmes alarm business. The Democratic loss of control in the House is historically seen as somewhat surprising, since no major issue played a role in their defeat. The end of Reconstruction and the pro-business nature of the Republicans were both minor factors. The ability of the Republican Party to paint several key Democratic leaders as corrupt also helped to alter the composition of the part just enough so that

Excerpt: The inauguration of Chester A. Arthur as the 21st President of the United States took place on September 20, 1881. The inauguration marked the commencement of the term of Chester A. Arthur as President. It was the fourth emergency swearing-in to take place during the 19 Century and the first to take place in New York since Washington’s first inauguration in 1789.Garfield murder On July 2, 1881 President Garfield was shot in the back by Charles J. Guiteau , who shouted: “I am a Stalwart of the Stalwarts… Arthur is president now!!” Arthur, who knew nothing of this in advance, was mortified. Eighty day crisis Arthur was cautious; he knew that there were a great number of people who thought that he had something to do with the attempted murder of the President, and didn’t want anything to do with succession until it was actually necessary; in fact, he went into seclusion, largely confining himself to his house in New York City and avoiding public appearances. Thus, for two months and 18 days, the country drifted, leaderless, hanging on every reported detail of Garfield’s health without much attention to the business of government. On September 19, 1881, Garfield died and Arthur succeeded to the Presidency. Assumption of office The inauguration of Arthur took place privately on September 20, 1881. The first time was just past midnight at his Lexington Avenue residence on September 20 by New York Supreme Court justice John R. Brady ; the second time was upon his return to Washington two days later with Chief Justice Morrison R. Waite officiating. The issue of tariffs played a key role in this election. The Democrats, with the support of farmers and laborers, wanted to lower tariffs in order to promote free trade, while the Republicans, backed by industry and big business, believed that higher tariffs were necessary to protect American manufacturing. Excerpt: Bourbon Democrat was a term used in the United States from 1876 to 1904 to refer to a conservative or classical liberal member of the Democratic Party , especially one who supported President Grover Cleveland in 18841888/1892-1896 and Alton B. Parker in 1904. After 1904, the Bourbons faded away. Woodrow Wilson , who had been a Bourbon, came to terms with William Jennings Bryan in 1912. The terms was used mostly by critics who complained of old fashioned viewpoints. Bourbon Democrats represented business interests, supported banking and railroad goals (but opposed subsidizing banks, railroads or other enterprises – or protecting them from competition), promoted laissez-faire capitalism (which included opposition to the protectionism Republicans then advocated), opposed imperialism and U.S. overseas expansion, fought for the gold standard , and opposed bimetallism . They strongly supported reform movements such as Civil Service Reform and opposed corruption of city bosses , leading the fight against the Tweed Ring . The anti-corruption theme earned the votes of many Republican Mugwumps in 1884. Origins of the term The term was first used as a pun to refer both to bourbon whiskey from Kentucky and even more to the Bourbon Dynasty of France that was overthrown in the French Revolution , but returned to power in 1815 to rule in a reactionary fashion until its final overthrow in the July Revolution of 1830. The term was

It commenced service on April 29, 1900, served briefly as a Burlington Northern Railroad train after the merger on March 2, 1970 with Great Northern Railway and Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad, and ceased operation the day before Amtrak began service (May 1, 1971). The Chicago Union Station to St. Paul leg of the train’s route was operated by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy railroad along its Mississippi River mainline through Wisconsin. The train also had a Portland section which split off the Seattle section at Pasco, Washington and was operated by NP subsidiary Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway between Pasco and Portland. For much of its history, the North Coast Limited was particularly noted for its dining car service which ranked among the best in the railroad passenger business. Inaugurated on April 29, 1900, between St.Paul, Minnesota, and Puget Sound, the North Coast Limited was one of the first named trains in the United States. Initially the Northern Pacific launched the train as a summer-only service but due to its popularity service was expanded to a year-round daily operation in 1902. The North Coast Limited operated as Number 1 westbound and Number 2 eastbound. In 1909 the train was re-equipped with new heavyweight cars constructed by Pullman-Standard and added a Portland section which operated via the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway between Spokane, Washington and Portland, Oregon. On December 17, 1911, service was also extended east of St. Paul directly into Chicago over the Chicago and North Western Railway. In 1918 the Chicago to St. Paul leg was shifted to… More:

Excerpt: The 1905 Chicago Teamsters’ strike was a sympathy strike and lockout by the United Brotherhood of Teamsters in the summer of 1905 in the city of Chicago, Illinois . The strike was initiated by a small clothing workers’ union. But it soon spread as nearly every union in the city, including the Teamsters, supported the job action with sympathy strikes. Initially, the strike was aimed at the Montgomery Ward department store, but it affected almost every employer in the metropolitan region after the Teamsters walked out. The strike eventually pitted the Teamsters against the Employers’ Association of Chicago , a broad coalition of business owners formed a few years earlier to oppose unionization in Chicago. The strike was a violent and deadly one. Riots erupted on April 7 and continued almost daily until mid-July. Hundreds and sometimes thousands of striking workers and their supporters would clash with strikebreakers and armed police each day. By late July, when the strike ended, 21 people had been killed and a total of 416 injured. It was the second-most deadly labor dispute in 20th century American history, surpassed only by the East St. Louis Riot of 1917. Court testimony in late summer revealed that various businessmen (including the general manager of Montgomery Ward) had taken bribes to lock out their workers. The testimony also revealed that union leaders had asked for

It was formed in and named after Vilnius (Vilna), a city which was then part of the Russian Empire and is now the capital of Lithuania. Distinctly modernist, and strongly influenced by Russian literature and by the ideas of Konstantin Stanislavski, their travels in Western Europe and later to Romania played a significant role in the dissemination of a disciplined approach to acting that continues to be influential down to the present day. Founded in 1915 or 1916 in the midst of World War I, the troupe began with the deserted Vilna State Theatre as their base, toured Kovno, Bialystock and Grodno, and soon moved to the Polish capital, Warsaw. Their repertoire epitomized the second golden age of Yiddish theater, with works by S. Ansky… More:

Excerpt: Face the Music Face the Music is a musical , the first collaboration between Moss Hart (book) and Irving Berlin (music and lyrics). Face the Music opened on Broadway in 1932, and has had several subsequent regional and New York stagings. The popular song “Let’s Have Another Cup of Coffee ” was introduced in the musical.History The musical was written as a political satire, specifically spoofing political and police corruption that the Seabury Commission was investigating. It also satirized show business, showing the far-fetched economies, such as seeing 4 films with a room and bath for 10¢. The musical did not ignore the Depression but rather found humor in it. There were many titles considered, among them Nickels and Dimes , but Berlin came up with the final title. Synopsis Producer Hal Reisman desperately seeks backers for his Broadway show. Because of the Great Depression , once-rich investors are “Lunching at the Automat”. Kit Baker, a former musical-comedy star and her boyfriend Pat Mason are now out of work and poor (“Let’s Have Another Cup of Coffee”). In his search, Reisman meets crooked policemen who need to get rid of their illegal money before they are found out. The corrupt police chief Martin van Buren Meshbesher and his eccentric wife Myrtle become investors in the show, expecting it to be a failure. In the show-within-the-show, Rodney St. Clair sings “My Beautiful Rhinestone Girl”. However, when risqué material is

Excerpt: The Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (LSSAH) was Adolf Hitler’s personal Bodyguard Regiment (“Leibstandarte” being a somewhat archaic German expression for the personal bodyguard of a military leader). The LSSAH independently participated in combat during the Invasion of Poland. The LSSAH was amalgamated into the Waffen-SS together with the SS-VT and the combat units of the SS-TV prior to Operation Barbarossa in 1941. By the end of World War II it had been increased in size from a regiment to a Panzer division. The elite division was a component of the Waffen-SS which was found guilty of war crimes in the Nuremberg Trials. In the earliest days of the NSDAP, it was realized by the leaders that bodyguard units composed of trustworthy and loyal men would be a wise development. Ernst Röhm formed a guard formation from the 19.Granatwerfer-Kompanie, and from this formation the Sturmabteilung (SA) soon evolved. Adolf Hitler, realizing the potential threat that the SA had presented, in early 1923 ordered the formation of a… More:

The story is a fictionalized version of the life of Annie Oakley (1860-1926), who was a sharpshooter from Ohio, and her husband, Frank Butler . The 1946 Broadway production was a hit, and the musical had long runs in both New York (1,147 performances) and London, spawning revivals, a 1950 film version and television versions. Songs that became hits include “There’s No Business Like Show Business “, “Doin’ What Comes Natur’lly “, “You Can’t Get a Man with a Gun “, “They Say It’s Wonderful “, and “Anything You Can Do. “History and background Dorothy Fields had the idea for a musical about Annie Oakley, to star her friend, Ethel Merman . After producer Mike Todd turned the project down, Fields and Merman went to a new producing team, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II , who agreed to produce, with Jerome Kern writing the music to Fields’ lyrics and book (together with her brother Herbert). However, before he could produce the score, Kern died suddenly. The producers and Fields then asked Irving Berlin to take on the job of writing both lyrics and music. Berlin initially thought it was not quite “up his alley,” worrying that he would be unable to

At the time, the Binh Xuyen was licensed with controlling the national police by Emperor Bao Dai , and Prime Minister Ngo Dinh Diem issued an ultimatum for them to surrender and come under state control. The battle started on April 27, 1955 and the VNA had largely crushed the Binh Xuyen within a week. Fighting was mostly concentrated in the inner city Chinese business district of Cholon. The densely crowded area saw some 500-1000 deaths and up to 20,000 civilians made homeless in the cross-fire. In the end, the Binh Xuyen were decisively defeated, their army disbanded and their vice operations collapsed. Early skirmishes On the midnight of 29-30 March, explosions rocked Saigon as the Binh Xuyen responded to Diem’s removal of its police chief. 200 Binh Xuyen troops launched an attack on VNA headquarters. The clashes were inconclusive, with the VNA suffering six deaths to their opponents’ 10, but by sunrise, the bodies of civilians littered the sidewalk. Main battle The final battle between Diem’s VNA and the Binh Xuyen began on April 27 at mid-day. After initial small arms fire and mortar exchanges, the VNA resorted to the heaviest artillery in its arsenal. This coincided with growing calls from within the Eisenhower administration to oust him, who believed that he was

Excerpt: “The Night Gwen Stacy Died” is a story arc of the Marvel Comics comic book series The Amazing Spider-Man #121-122 (June-July 1973), that became a watershed event in the life of the superhero Spider-Man, one of popular culture’s most enduring and recognizable fictional characters. The two-issue story, written by Gerry Conway, with pencil art by Gil Kane and inking by John Romita Sr. and Tony Mortellaro, features Spider-Man’s fight against his archnemesis, the Green Goblin, who has abducted his girlfriend Gwen Stacy and lured him to the George Washington Bridge. Prior to this arc, Norman Osborn had been the Green Goblin, but came down with amnesia, suspending his identity as the supervillain and most notably forgetting that Spider-Man and Peter Parker are the same person. Also, Harry Osborn, Peter’s best friend and Norman’s son, became addicted to drugs and was sequestered in the Osborn home for detoxification in order to keep a potentially embarrassing issue from becoming public and hurting Norman Osborn’s business. The Amazing Spider-Man #122 (June 1973). Cover art by John Romita Sr.Peter, his girlfriend Gwen Stacy, and friend Mary Jane Watson visit Harry, who is in a sorry state. His father Norman is livid about Harry’s condition, blames Peter, Gwen, and Mary Jane for Harry’s drug abuse, and throws them out. When Norman hears that he is facing financial ruin, he suffers a breakdown, and suddenly remembers everything. Norman again becomes the Green Goblin and makes it his goal to kill Peter/Spider-Man for all the misery he imagines Spider-Man has caused him and his family. The Green Goblin abducts Gwen and lures Spider-Man to the George Washington Bridge. Holding an unconscious Gwen, he gloats at Peter. The two fight, and just when Spider-Ma… More:

It was written Pete Stone with art by Neal Adams and then various creative teams following their run. The series apparently lasted 14 consecutive issues, not including a 1994 annual and various editions of #1, before closing when NOW Comics went out of business. This figure may be incorrect however, with the eleventh issue possibly being the final issue produced. Many if not all issues of Mr. T and the T-Force included Mr. T trading cards. Mr. T Cover of the 2008 Mr. T graphic novel comic book Another comic version, Mr. T , appeared in 2005 from short-lived British comic publisher APComics. It was pitched to the publisher by writer Chris Bunting who was joined with pencils by Neil Edwards, inks by Randy Emberlin and with colours by Don Mackinnon. Mr. T was also listed as a Creative Supervisor on the series and did a round of interviews as publicity for the series launch. The series got a lot of press interest announcing itself to be one of the biggest licensing deals in British comic’s history, but ultimately it had a very short life most probably due to the closure of APComics. It featured as a six page preview of APComics upcoming comics and then

Excerpt: Anaheim Convention Center is a major convention center in Anaheim, California . It is located across from the Disneyland Resort on Katella Avenue. Much of the Anaheim Convention Center has been renovated in recent years with state-of-the-art facilities. The basketball arena, fronting Katella Avenue, was opened in July 1967, while the convention hall behind it opened to business shortly afterward. Since then, the convention hall has undergone three major expansions, and currently encloses over 800,000 square feet (74,000 m ) of floor space. According to frequent news reports, the largest exposition held at the Convention Center in recent years has been the Winter NAMM Show . This music-equipment convention (trade only, not open to the general public) had 1,560 exhibitors and a record-breaking 88,100 attendees during the 2008 show. The NAMM Show has been running at the Anaheim Center since 1977, except for a 3-year break in 1998-2000 while the Convention Center underwent major renovations. Recent news reports indicate that NAMM’s long-term lease with the Anaheim Convention Center authority ends in 2010, and NAMM is applying pressure to the City of Anaheim to further expand and improve the convention center. The popular Anime Expo was held here in 1996 and from 2003 through 2006 and was one of the convention center’s biggest public events of the year. Blizzard
